Diabetes Prevention

The Diabetes Prevention Program will help those who have prediabetes (blood sugars higher than normal) learn about and adopt the healthy eating and physical activity habits that have been proven to reduce the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

The key focus is on weight reduction and increased physical activity. You will receive support and encouragement from both a Certified Lifestyle Coach and fellow participants while developing a plan for improving and maintaining overall well being.

Facts about the Diabetes Prevention Program:

  • Based on the National Diabetes Prevention 12-month lifestyle change program
  • 16 one-hour core sessions (usually one per week)
  • One-hour monthly post-core sessions for the remainder of the year
  • Group setting
  • Work with a Certified Lifestyle Coach and other professionals
